Marketing
If you subscribe to our newsletter or opt in at checkout, we will email you about new releases, restocks and offers.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing dreamyworldglobal@gmail.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop emails about orders you have already placed — we still need to send those.
Who we share your information with
We share personal information only with organisations that help us run the shop:
- Payment providers, who process your payment and handle refunds
- Delivery and logistics partners, who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order
- Our website hosting and platform providers
- Our email marketing provider
- Analytics and advertising platforms
- Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, where necessary
- Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for other companies to market their own products to you.
Sending information outside the UK
Because we operate in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria, and because some of our suppliers are based elsewhere, your information may be transferred outside the UK.
Where that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place — either an adequacy decision covering the destination country, standard contractual clauses approved for use in the UK, or your explicit consent. You can ask us for details of the safeguard used for any specific transfer.
How long we keep your information
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Order and transaction records | 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to |
| Account information | While your account is active, then 2 years |
| Marketing contacts | Until you unsubscribe, then 2 years |
| Customer service correspondence | 3 years from last contact |
| Website analytics and cookie data | Up to 26 months |
After these periods we delete your information or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your basket and selected currency, and understand how the site is used.
Essential cookies keep the site functioning — your basket, your login session, your currency. These do not require your consent.
Analytics and marketing cookies help us measure traffic and show relevant advertising. We only set these if you agree via our cookie banner.
You can change your preferences at any time through the cookie settings on our site, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings — though the site may not work properly if you block essential ones.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Be informed about how we use your information — that is what this policy is for
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete your information in certain circumstances
- Restrict how we process your information in certain circumstances
- Receive your information in a portable format
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting anything done beforehand
- Not be subject to solely automated decisions with significant effects. We do not make such decisions.
If you are in Nigeria, you have equivalent rights under Nigerian data protection law.
To exercise any of these rights, email dreamyworldglobal@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. There is no charge, though we may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right.
You also have the right to complain to a regulator:
- United Kingdom — Information Commissioner’s Office, ico.org.uk
- Nigeria — Nigeria Data Protection Commission, ndpc.gov.ng
Security
We use encryption across our site, limit access to personal information to people who need it, and require our suppliers to maintain appropriate security.
No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the relevant regulator and, where required, you.
Children
Our site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the site.
